Thailand is one of our favourite places EVER! It's got it all: stunning beaches, rooftop bars, insane views, island-hopping perfection, and so much more. We get asked the WHOLE time what the perfect route around Thailand would be. If you ask us, of course, we're always going to say the longer, the better and our 27-day Total Thailand is ideal if you have the time to see it all. But we don't all have unlimited annual leave (tiny violins at the ready), and normally, people are looking to explore as much as they can in about 2 weeks. Luckily for you, we are the self-titled Thai experts, and we've been operating in Thailand and living our best lives there for over 13 years now - so we have the PERFECT 15-day itinerary for you! You can thank us later. Oh, and if you read this and think, yes please, that's a bit of me - wait until the 2nd of April and sign up to our mailing list because something BIG is coming...
If you want to see the best of Thailand in two weeks with TruTravels, this itinerary combines the paradise islands of the south with the culture-packed wonders of the north. From island-hopping Phi Phi to elephant encounters in Chiang Mai, this trip gives you the best of both worlds.
Bangkok: The perfect welcome to Thailand (Days 1-3)
Thailand’s vibrant capital is home to ancient temples, floating markets, and rooftop bars with insane city views. It is the start for most TruTravels Thailand tours because the airport is nearby and it's the ideal way to throw yourself into Thai culture. Whilst in Bangkok, you can explore the iconic Grand Palace, hop on a tuk-tuk through bustling streets, and indulge in mouth-watering street food at Khao San Road. Whether you're sipping cocktails at a sky bar or cruising along the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok is the perfect way to start your 15-day TruTravels Thailand adventure.
Khao Sok: Where else do you find floating bungalows? (Day 4)
Khao Sok National Park is an absolute hidden gem, and it's a must-visit for nature lovers. This is one of our favourite places in Thailand as it always gets 10/10 reactions! Picture yourself waking up in a floating bungalow, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and emerald-green waters. By day, you’ll be kayaking through tranquil waters, exploring hidden caves, and spotting wildlife (maybe even a wild elephant too!) This untouched paradise offers a peaceful vibe, the perfect location to follow the madness of Bangkok!

Ao Nang: The must-see location you've never heard of! (Days 5-6)
Located in Krabi, Ao Nang is a super cute coastal town known for its amazing clear waters and epic island-hopping adventures. It’s the perfect place to explore nearby gems like Railay Beach. By night, Ao Nang comes alive with beachfront restaurants, lively bars, and stunning sunset views - with 15 days to spend in Thailand, we couldn't skip this stop!
Phi Phi Islands: 10/10 views, do we need to say anymore? (Days 7-9)
The Phi Phi Islands are pure paradise, with towering cliffs, turquoise waters, and white sandy beaches - you might never want to leave and to be honest, we wouldn't blame you... Whether you spend your days kayaking through hidden lagoons, snorkelling with tropical fish, or enjoying a boat trip to the famous Maya Bay, this spot is straight out of a postcard. After a day of island-hopping, soak up the lively beach scene or hike up to one of the many sunset spots for the most epic views - one of the memory books for sure!

Phuket: Adventure, Culture & Stunning Beaches (Days 10-11)
You have to visit Thailand’s largest island. Phuket is a mix of stunning beaches, buzzing nightlife, and local culture. From exploring the vibrant streets of Old Phuket Town to watching a Muay Thai fight or taking in the breathtaking views from the Big Buddha, Phuket has something for everyone. And let’s not forget the legendary nightlife, where you can dance the night away. Whether a sunset beer or dancing the night away is more your style, this Island is NOT to be missed!
Chiang Mai: Culture, Temples, & Elephants (Days 12, 14 and 15)
Chiang Mai is unmissbale! It's home to majestic temples, bustling night markets, and ethical elephant sanctuaries. Wander through the old city’s ancient temples, climb up to Doi Suthep for breathtaking views, and enjoy a traditional Khantoke dinner. A visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary is a must—spend the day feeding and walking alongside these gentle giants in a responsible, cruelty-free environment.
Hill Tribe Experience: Experience a taste of the rural life for the night! (Day 13)
One of the most unique experiences in Thailand is spending a night with a local hill tribe deep in the jungle. We love giving back to the local community when we travel and TruTravels have been working with this particular Hill Tribe for years now! We'll trek through lush greenery, learn about traditional ways of life, and stay in authentic huts under the stars. This off-the-beaten-path adventure offers a glimpse into a different side of Thailand, where you can connect with local communities and experience true Thai hospitality. It's going to be a night to remember!
